FDA Caves In and We Win!

Tuesday, April 26th, 2011

In an apparent restoration of sanity, the Associated Press reported yesterday that the FDA is going to “treat e-cigarettes the same as traditional cigarettes and other tobacco products”.

Hooray for our side, and it’s about @#$%!ing time!   That’s all the industry has asked for since the beginning! We never intended to sell them to minors, or to tout them as a way to quit smoking.

Electronic cigarettes are simply an alternative nicotine delivery method. Nothing more, and nothing less. If people happen to cut down or quit smoking regular cigarettes at the same time, then good for them.

E-Cigarettes, the FDA and the FCC

Friday, September 10th, 2010

E-cigarettes have paved their way around the globe and have established their own following, in both offline markets and online.

However the e-cigarette, which already has its own industry, has generated controversy. Because it is a smoking implement and poses conceivable danger in regards to similar threats associated with actual cigarettes and other tobacco products, the FDA has considered banning it.

The fact that e-cigarettes are registered with the FCC doesn’t seem to make any difference. What is particularly interesting in light of this situation is that the FCC has approved the flavored nicotine e-liquid that e-cigarettes burn, which would suggest that the dangers feared are unfounded.

FDA Banning Driven by Big Tobacco

Thursday, May 21st, 2009

So the FDA is considering banning a device that is “not yet proven to safe”, in favor of the alternative – something that’s been proven UNsafe?

That’s almost funny, it it wasn’t a sad picture of how corrupt our system has become.

I believe that that tobacco companies are primarily behind efforts to ban this device, because it will affect business so badly.

Unfortunately for them, mankind and technology are going to adapt, because we want our niciotine!

With the entire world telling us that cigarettes will kill us, (not to mention the actual fact that it’s TRUE) they have to see that their industry is a dinosaur on its way out.
