What is an Electric Cigarette & Why Use One?

In today’s society, it is becoming less and less acceptable to smoke in public since no one wants to inhale second-hand smoke. Thanks to improving technology, there’s now a way for smokers to light up without impeding on the non-smokers around them thanks to the electric cigarette.

These ‘e-cigarette’s’ are an excellent alternative to smoked tobacco that’s used in regular cigarettes, pipes and cigars since they are battery operated and provide nicotine through an inhaled dose. These cigarettes also give the same flavor and physical sensation that comes with using a regular cigarette.

Many of the electric cigarette brands in use today are reusable devices that come with replaceable and refillable parts. There are also some disposable e-cigarettes that have been developed, but they are not as popular as the ones that can be re-used.

The way that these cigarettes work is really quite simple. When a person inhales through the device, a sensor inside the cigarette automatically activates a heating element which then vaporizes a nicotine solution that’s stored in the mouthpiece. It is this nicotine vapor that’s inhaled by the user. There are even some models that have an LED light on the opposite end of the cigarette which gives the appearance of glowing tobacco.

Many e-cigarettes use a re-chargeable battery to power the heating element, which vaporizes the nicotine solution. This rechargeable battery is also a great money-saving aspect since it means you don’t need to keep buying batteries for the electric cigarette.

There are many different battery chargers available as well, from wall chargers to USB connectors. The battery is typically the largest component of any e-cigarette. While the electronic cigarette can take many different forms, they all employ the same basic components : mouthpiece, heating element, battery and internal circuits.

There are many different benefits to using an electric cigarette compared to an actual tobacco product. They supply the user with the nicotine need without producing the harmful cancer-causing elements such as glue, arsenic and carbon monoxide. Unlike traditional cigarettes, smoking an e-cigarette is not illegal and you are most likely able to smoke them in bars, on planes and in the work place since there is no harmful second-hand smoke to contend with.
