Because of the fact that the stores are scared to put very much money into stocking inventory, since our US government is out to annihilate the business, that’s why!
Can you imagine purchasing a great supply of electric cigarette kits, electric cigarette batteries, replacement cartridges, and bottles of liquid nicotine for refilling, only to have the authorities in your state, or the local regulating agencies in your town tell you that you are able to no longer sell them?!?
That’s what’s beginning to happen, and tomorrow, Sept 23, 2010 is when the FDA is appealing their loss in their attempt to control the distribution. It’s going to be held in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia – Civil Action No. 09-cv-0771 (RJL)

Nobody absolutely knows for sure why our authorities appear hell bent on destroying the electric cigarette business, but I believe it’s pretty obvious that it is certainly not “to safeguard the public” as is being claimed.
There simply isn’t any evidence out there to show that these types of devices are unsafe, and I believe the tobacco companies are pounding Washington with lobbyists, who are afraid of the future existence of their clientele. Of course the states themselves are only too happy to oblige, due to their fear of losing revenue from the lost tobacco taxes.
Major retail stores willl continue to shy away from stocking electric cigarette goods due to the risk of being left holding large amounts of products on hand that they can’t legally sell.
The only place that you’re likely to discover them is in the small kiosks found in some shopping malls, and occasionally you’ll find them in bars and taverns, who have recently begun carrying these electronic cigarettes and their accessories.
