The Technology Behind Smokeless Cigarettes
This phenomenon has occurred the world over with smokeless cigarettes.
Also known as electronic cigarettes or e-cigs, electric smokeless cigarettes utilize a simple technology of turning a liquid in to a vapor able to be inhaled, whereby a smoker, in this case, can receive a shot of their much needed nicotine.
Considering smoking is an addiction, and an unhealthy one at that, the advent of a product that allows a person to experience the act and sensations of smoking while completely removing the chemicals, tar, carcinogens and smoke has revolutionized the way some smokers receive their intake of nicotine.
The technology of smokeless cigarettes is really quite simple. They typically take the shape and appearance of a real cigarette but with the obvious exception that they are made of plastic and not paper; smokeless cigarettes have a screw joint located about midway up the shaft which gives easy access to the chamber in order to allow the insertion of a liquid nicotine cartridge.
These cartridges tend to screw directly in to an atomizer — which is often found within the filter area of the electric smokeless cigarettes — so when the nicotine itself is superheated, it is turned from a liquid in to a vapor and the smoker is then able to inhale the nicotine as if dragging from a real cigarette.
Smokeless cigarettes also contain a small battery which enables the electric cigarette to operate and often times, depending on the manufacturer, the batteries located within the chamber of the smokeless cigarettes are rechargeable. This is highly beneficial as it lowers the necessity to purchase multiple cigarettes on a frequent basis.
Too, the technology of smokeless cigarettes has evolved to such an extent that each new nicotine cartridge often contains the equivalent of 100 cigarettes. The price for these cartridges will also vary by manufacturer, but it is often considerably less expensive to purchase a smokeless cigarette system and refills than it is to maintain an actual smoking habit.
Additionally, smokeless cigarettes have helped many smokers find a loophole around smoking bans given the fact that there is no smoke associated with the cigarette, this has been a huge factor in the success of smokeless cigarettes.
