The electronic or smokeless cigarette has been around for a number of years and it appears as if their invention came as a result of the various smoking bans that have been implemented throughout various countries all over the world. Smokeless cigarettes, like everything tends to over time, have evolved… previously they came in the form of long, cumbersome units with multiple parts that seemed to wear out rather quickly, now, you can find them as a more compact unit often with parts that are built to last quite a bit longer than their predecessors.

The smokeless cigarettes employ incredible technology to aid a smoker in his or her efforts to inhale nicotine but without the carcinogens, chemicals and tobacco associated with regular cigarettes.

There are numerous companies that offer smokeless cigarettes in one form or another, typically, they come in the shape and likeness of a regular cigarette and though their size has changed over time, the appearance has remained relatively the same.

The one exception to this, however, are the smokeless cigarettes that resemble a ball point pen, appropriately dubbed ‘pen-style’. Considering that the smoking habit is more often than not associated with the nicotine a smoker receives when they inhale the smoke from a cigarette, it was only a matter of time before someone was able to capitalize on the idea of smokeless cigarettes.

However, they are not typically beneficial as an aid to help someone quit smoking because the smoker still gets their fix of nicotine by inhaling it directly through their surrogate cigarette. Basically, the smoker is just replacing one nicotine source for another but there is the added benefit of not having the smoke associated with smoking.

Though many argue that because the smoke is not present, as well as the distinct absences of the tar and chemicals traditionally found in regular cigarettes that even though the puffing habit remains, the use of smokeless cigarettes is far healthier on a body than the act of smoking a regular cigarette.

The way the smokeless cigarette works is that there is a chamber, typically filled with liquid nicotine that when heated in an atomizer produces a shot of vaporized nicotine the person then inhales as if they were smoking a real cigarette.

This shot of nicotine is able to satisfy the need for a cigarette in ways that other nicotine replacement systems can not. AS technology continues to improve, you can more than likely expect the encounter additional changes to the appearance of smokeless cigarettes even if their basic functionality still remains, the same.
